Re: Oil pressure loss !!

Thanks for all the advice guys I think the first thing I am going to do is change the oil pressure switch, because,as you say, it's cheap and easy to change. Hopefully that will cure the problem. Thanks again everyone for the advice. Paul They do not come supplied with the o-ring, it would be sensi...

Re: Oil pressure loss !!

For the small cost, I would certainly fit a new oil pressure switch as I've seen these fail many many times before and they don't last forever. Agree with you 100% :up :up :up The plungers can get 'sticky' over time. If it intermittently fails to break contact with the oil gallery you would get the...

Re: Oil pressure loss !!

Drop the sump and check the pump filter is clean. You can remove the sump in the frame with pipes removed and it can reveal a multitude of sins. It is not uncommon to find the broken front cam chain guide lurking in 40 years of carbon and metal swarf! Loads of bikes ran 20/50 oil back in the day wit...

Re: Pod filters

Some good suggestions from the guys. Just be aware that K&N's are intended to be oiled and re-washable while some of the cheaper ones run better dry. Ultimately, K&N's are probably a better investment, providing cleaner flow and longer life. It depends what you need and what your budget will...

Re: Hunting for 73 z1 fuel valve sleeve

I have a few of those cheap taps that I stopped selling because they leak. I think the internals are different but I will take one apart and see if it helps.

Re: z1000 starting problem

Glad you got it sorted. A little tip when buying batteries is compare the weight (if shown) this gives an indication of the amount of lead used. Motobatt are good batteries, just be careful where you get them from. There are some old ones around selling cheap. Yuasa are reputable and you can get Gel...
