3 & 4 are working hardest which leads me to think that the problem lies with 1 & 2 carbs running lean or fuel supply. Compression is alway a good thing to eliminate but I feel it unlikely for mechanical failure to develop just from laying up over winter.

Pretty much as the guys have said. I see little point in refurbing, only to find out later the bike is not running properly because you have put the old worn out jets back in. I don't know which carb kits Paul has used in the past but have to agree you get what you pay for.

Early ones are on Ebay in the states for anywhere between £400 - £650. Of course that does not mean they sell for that and as always, it is only worth what someone is prepared to pay.

As said no grease needed for head, not a bad idea for base. RTY to hold the cam tunnel o ring in place while you lower the head.
