Re: Carburettor refurbishment

Pretty much as the guys have said. I see little point in refurbing, only to find out later the bike is not running properly because you have put the old worn out jets back in. I don't know which carb kits Paul has used in the past but have to agree you get what you pay for.

Re: Z1 early petrol tank

Early ones are on Ebay in the states for anywhere between £400 - £650. Of course that does not mean they sell for that and as always, it is only worth what someone is prepared to pay.

As said no grease needed for head, not a bad idea for base. RTY to hold the cam tunnel o ring in place while you lower the head.

Re: Idiots guide to setting up carbs

I am not a fan of the weird George mod as it just bypass's an already existing problem, all electrical connections should be clean and have good flow. Have never used the mod, just kept harness's working right. Of course, in principle you are completely right and with new loom and switch gear the m...

Re: Idiots guide to setting up carbs

Are you sure it is the carbs? Lots of time and money is spent tinkering with carbs only to find out that there is something else going on. No amount of carb afjustment will solve a low compression issue, so it is worth eliminating this possibility sooner, rather than later. One of the most common ca...
