Re: Stafford - October 2022 - Call for bikes.

I have just finished my Zed special if you’re interested, and I’m also happy to help out with the stand if I’m required. I will be taking it to the tramway museum this weekend for a bit of a run.

Head Handy.

The same story as the carburettor handy, working on cylinder heads and lockdown boredom, I’ve made four of these and I’m keeping one so three up for grabs £40.00 each.

Carburettor Handy !

Because of working on a few sets of carburettors and the lockdown boredom I made this fixture and it works really well, no more chasing the carbs around my work bench. I’ve made four and I’m keeping one, so three up for grabs at £40.00 each.

http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h417/H2ex/IMG_0433_zpsp4wksq30.jpg [/img] As you can see here the helicoil insert was touching the valve seats. So I have decided to tap the hole out 3/8 bspt and make a special plug to fit. The downside is I will have to do all four cylinders. And I will f...

Spark Plug Threads !

Has anybody come across this problem before ? All four spark plug threads on my Z900 cylinder head are pretty much shot, no problem I hear you shout. I've got a Helicoil kit to correct the problem. Now here's the rub, it turns out that one of the holes has already got an insert in it ! I've taken th...

Hydraulic Clutch Modification.

Over the years I have seen quite a few very nice looking Z1 - Z1000 Hydraulic clutch conversions, the most recent being on a very tasteful Z power creation at Stafford. (You just know there is a "But" coming don't you) But I have never seen a hydraulic conversion done, where by looking at ...
