use a 8mm allen bolt coated in some fine grinding paste & wd 40 & work it gently until the new bolt screws in by hand also fit a schnorr washer under the bolt

when fully tightened the 2 x 27mm axle nuts do not clamp against the outside surface of the lower fork leg there is a gap. make sure you speedo drive & spacer are flush against the inside surface of the lower fork legs

set the clearances closer to the maximum rather than the minimum

4mm end float it a lot its either the roller bearing on the shaft or the washer behind the clutch is missing

personally i would leave the sump of & i would remove the cams & cam buckets & flush the oil ways through first before you re assemble also remove the pump & check the oil pump gears with feeler gauges as per genuine workshop manual

z900a4 steering stops are different the stop on the frame is welded in front of the lower bearing seating on the frame . the z1 stop is a round peg welded to the frame bracing between the front frame tubes
