they both route under the air cleaner bracket one clip secures the alternator harness the other is the starter lead

as already mentioned blocked pilot system but it is also important to check the valve clearances & do a compression test. if the valves are tight it will struggle to draw in any fuel

when did you fit the cibie headlight ? if the ballast resistor was not removed before it was fitted the cibie light would only be as bright as a candle like the original headlight was

if the ballast resistor is still in circuit disconnect it & join the two blue wires together that come out of the main harness

if you mean the gear that is in direct contact with the starter motor then no it shouldn't have any shim / washers

If you haven't got one i'd fit one as it keeps all the crap from the chain spreading all over the clutch mech etc.

that part 14024-008 is only fitted to the z1 / a/ b / z900

no it has a foam damper which is held in place by a steel cover & not the same as z1/ z900

once the clutch assembly is secured the shaft cannot move as the shaft is secured by the big roller bearing which is secured by a retainer in the crankcases & the clutch & gearbox shaft is sandwiched between this bearing

there are only two sizes of shim & you say yours has got the thicker one of the two . the movement/ gap you have between the needle roller & the cir clip looks normal to me
