Something electrical breaking down when warm. Cools down and contact remakes thus all Ok again.

Check Spark as soon it cuts out to prove.

A lot depends on whether the bleed screws will come out without breaking the casting. If the answer is yes there’s no reason why the calipers shouldn’t overhaul fine. What he said..... All the internals are available, so if you can salvage the caliper and remove the Bleeders then original is always...

Before you start ripping the sump off check the left hand alternator case where the wiring enters, VERY common place for leaks which will run down onto the bottom of the engine. The usual problem with bikes that have been laid up is blocked pilot circuits/jets. You could try an 'Italian Tune Up' to ...

Not the best example but you can see on the pic below how much more 'padded' the seat cover looks and how much deeper the welds are than the very flat looking repo item....
