Looks like you've got your work cut out there Philippe.

Always amazes me though how people let these bikes get in that state in the first place. :??

Re: My dream bike .. kz1000 A1

don't use Autosol it's far too abrasive, try Meguiar's metal polish it's a fine paste, but not cheap. Autosol has it's uses Andrew, but I'd agree not on 'already' polished cases. This was the lump on my old Z1B when I first got her... Z1077.jpg After A LOT of hours with a scotch pad, tooth brush an...

Re: My dream bike .. kz1000 A1

Looks VERY nice and as said Original pipes make all the difference.

Think you'll need a bigger tube of Solvol than the one in the picture though.

Motobatt for no other reason than less chance of dumping a load of acid over my lovely shiny exhausts.

Toolkits are Model and Year specific. Which one you looking for? (not that I've got any).

Re: Z1 Wheel rebuild

As Phillippe above re:- your spokes. If the rest of the bike is original then I'd leave the rims as they are. Modern triple plated chrome is much blingier (is that a word?) than original Japanese chrome so would perhaps look 'to' shiny compared to the rest of the bikes chrome. And let's be honest sa...

Re: 1978 z1000A2

A2 info... http://www.z-power.co.uk/kawasaki-1000cc-models

OE pipes are made of unobtanium - The odd nice set that do pop up fetch silly money. One option though are Z1 4X4 pipes which look VERY nice on the A1/2.

If it's a nice original/standard bike other than pipes & paint then around £5K.
