Re: Carb jets and needles

Well with the z1r carbs on it runs beautiful, so the problem lies with the carbs, going to put new pilot jets in, stripped and rebuilt the slides and cleaned the needles, put all back together, flushed again , will put them back on next week, going to run out over the next few days wit the z1r carb...

Re: New from Scotland

Hi and thanks everyone Marmck budget dictates it would probably be an American import at the moment. Ideally a KZ900 A model or an early 1000ltd. Been looking at importers down south. Got about 3k Stateside bikes aren't the poor relation given they probably make up 70% + of all Z1's in the UK. Most...

Re: Battery problems

The Battery 'Charging' and the Battery actually 'Holding' that charge are two very different things. Have you checked the voltage at the battery with the engine running around 3K revs?. Should be around 13.5-14.5 volts. Any more you could have a Reg/Rec problem putting to much charge into the batter...

Re: Tool kit nearly complete... axle wrench extender??

Hiya almost a complete kit in my man cave , will probably never get a feeler guage but I have a question about the axle wrench extender... can still be found as nos but is there any differences over the years? Should I be looking for one with the big K logo on it as most of the bits I have so far a...

Re: Z1 tyres

S'pose it depends what you want from said rubber, ie period look or performance?. I always had good service from Roadriders on my classics, but one of my Triples came with a nearly new set of the modern copies of the original Dunlop Ditchfinders, but despite my reservations they performed fine. That...

Looks very nice and original with all the right bits. As above I never liked the Brown, but it's a real grower and actually looks fantastic in sunlight, the candy really pops.

Given that pretty much every A4 is the usual Diamond Dark Green I'd think the Brown will add Value.

Well Done. :D

Re: Well its a Kwak and its green and it was cheap !

Had a C1 in Candy Blue (best colour) from nearly new. Easily the best all round bike I've ever owned. it just did everything VERY well. Sold it to a guy I know with around 12K mikes on the clock in 2002, and he owned it until last year when it was written off by the usual 'didn't see him' car.....by...

Re: Z900A4 Questions

All date codes look good.

Genuine shocks have a small hole below the top mount for a dowel pin (pattern don't).

Your front mudguard is on back-to-front.

Re: Fancy a Triple?....

. I think were I in the market, I would be looking at bikes already on this side of the pond and preferably original UK imports. Genuine UK H1/2's are pretty rare though and people have always been prepared to pay a premium for Ricks Bikes. Let's be honest if you're going to buy a Triple then many ...
