My finished Mk.II project finally on the road.

Finally got the bike checked on and approved for the road. Here's a few pictures I snapped the other day when I was out taking a ride. Finished the bike almost two years back but it's taken me till now to get it road legal... I'm ashamed... http://i.imgur.com/Z6m2rMM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/cDzygGg.j...

Re: Fuel cap issues (leaking)

Took the bike out for a bit of a longer ride today after fiddling with the fuel cap yesterday. When taking it apart, it seems like one of the grooved rings that makes up the ventilation was fitted upside down and as such did not provide any ventilation whatsoever. Thread sealant in the threads for t...

Re: Fuel cap issues (leaking)

Took the fuel cap apart and the breather seems to be fine. I just think it's really small but I guess it is enough since it has worked before. Cleaned out a bit of dirt from it. Also put some sealant in the threads for the screws. Hopefully it should be better now.

I'll report back tomorrow.

There is a vent hole in the stock cap?

I think I need to take a closer look at that. Might be where the issue is if that's the case.

Fuel cap issues (leaking)

Hey guys, long time no see. The Mk.II project is on the road and it's a really pleasant ride with the new suspension, wheels, brakes and all that. But I still have an issue with the bike and it's bothering me. A lot. So when I was rebuilding the bike I removed the stock fuel tap from the tank and we...

Viktor - you state: "What is strange is that it only occurs when I open up the throttle and start bringing the revs up in the 2000-2500 RPM area that it starts to backfire. If I back off the throttle it goes back to a perfectly smooth idle." Is this on the road - or with bike stationary ?...

Guys I need some assistance. Everything is sorted on the bike now but I still have an issue with backfiring on cylinder #4. #4 was also producing a weaker spark. At first, I thought it was a faulty coil or the resistor that is stock on the Mk.II or a faulty coil wire so I ordered new coils, wires an...

Thanks guys. Small update on the bike: Carbs are tuned well enough for now but I have a problem with back firing and a weak spark on #4. Ordered new coils, wires and caps so I'll be swapping that out as soon as possible and removing the stock coils + resistor which should eliminate the problem. Need...

It's finished!

Some work left to do on the carbs but it rides and runs and that's good enough for me. Now to get it ready for MOT. :)

Thanks. I'll try that as a start and go from there.

Hopefully I'll at least get it rideable then I can start working on the fine-tuning.

The ZRX1100 swingarm is almost a straight fit as I recall. You can find info in my build thread on what was needed to make it fit. Can run a 180 rear wheel too.
