Re: 1979 Mk2 restoration (Operation Boomerang)

Did Kawasaki use non setting gasket

The reason I ask is, I am stripping the MK2 engine and originally I was convinced that it had never been apart before, however I have just removed the oil pump and there was only 1 knock pin instead of 2 and you can see the crankcase half’s have had non setting gasket on them, I was sure that when I...

Re: 1979 Mk2 restoration (Operation Boomerang)

Taken a look at the cylinder head over the last couple of days a good degrease a coat or 2 of a good paint stripper (the original coating is proving to be stubborn) It appears the exhaust valve clearances where virtually closed because of the carbon build up, I also believe the head has been off at ...

Re: 1979 Mk2 restoration (Operation Boomerang)

Regarding the mk2 exhausts from DK, when I bought my first ever Mk2 in 1980 it had original exhausts, they lasted about 18 months before our climate wrecked them, so I bought an Alfa 4 into 1, very load and anti social :D :D :D, when I first had this one in 1995 it also had originals they also rotte...
