Is it possible to repair the little rubber seats at the base of the choke plunger, as the plungers a are no longer available.

Carb question

Going to try and resolve the Carb problem on my z1000 by using compressed air to see if there is a blockage, as a pointer which port feeds the air/mixture screw, I know the inner port is for the choke, so left or right.

Gggrrrrrrr, tried the choke plunger, pressed it down, even put another very small o ring on the end, still can't get blue, even swapped the fuel lines over, no change, last resort, blast the airways and see , will put an order on for replacement set.

The saga goes on, swapped the pilot jets in 3 and 4 , took out the new Keyster ones put the old ones back in, check fuel levels I 3 and 4, okay , took out the choke plunger in 4, easy to remove withcarbs in place, cleaned that up, just a point, notice there is a rubber at the base of the plunger, co...

have you tried using a couple of the old mixture screws? there are small holes in the throat of the carb body by the butterfly valve this is the main cause of not being able to correct the mixture Going to try and remove one screw , and then insert a pointed rubber plug, see if that changes the col...

I have a set of A1 thou 26mm carbs, non vac tap, they have been sonic cleaned, float levels set, slides bench set, 15 pilots 102.5 mains, if you pay the postage to and fro you are welcome to give them a go. I bought two new keyster rebuild kits for 3 and 4, fitted the new parts, I wonder if the new parts are at fault. Can't see that tho .

Yes screw is underneath, it's the fuel mixture screw, so the nrp carbs man told me, had the carbs off again today, all the passage ways are clear and we'll flushed out, got me truly baffled

Hi Paul, it runs fine with other carbs, so it's deffo a carb issue.

Thanks for the offer Paul, chatting with Dave Marsden today, he has a couple of sets he will sell if I need them, it's really frustrating, can't see owt wrong with them, just can't get the buggers to work right, if you have the bodies for 3 and 4 in good order I might take them off you.
