Re: Z900 A4 fuel leak any ideas please?

Keyster kits for the Kawasaki Z and Suzuki GS VM carbs work fine.
I have used Keyster kits intended for the VM28's to replace the entire internals on VM26's i have bored out to 30mm and they have performed faultlessly..

Re: backfiring

The 0.05mm to 0.10mm clearances are the old specs which were revised to 0.10mm to 0.15mm due to instances of valve seat burning, especially on the exhausts
They should be kept as close as possible to the upper figure of 0.15mm and never let to get below 0.10mm.

Re: backfiring

Thanks for all the ideas. I have lifted the top off, and all of the valve gaps are between 0.07 and 0.1mm. Valve clearances are on the tight side. The should be 0.10mm minimum and ideally 0.15mm. Whenever they get down to 0.10mm they need the next thinnest shim.. Backfiring and loss of power under ...

Re: ZRX forks pre-load adjustment

Those preload adjusters don't alter the uncompressed length of the forks BUT they do reduce sag by preloading and consequently stiffening the springs so do affect the ride height of the suspension.
They also do make a noticable difference to the front end firmness and resistance to dive.

Re: Will 1.015L barrels fit z900 bottom

Yes!
The 900 and 1000 cases are pretty much identical apart from the case mouths which you have enlarged already.
Deck heights and even the heads are basically the same..
The 1000 is just a bored out 900.

Re: Drive sprocket locking plate

I only need approximately 3mm of additional clearance. Would I be ok to skim 3mm of the height of this cylinder so I could retain my lock plate or should I ditch the lock plate and go back to the drawing board.... Yes! That cylindrical casting only acted as a guard for the oil pump drive if fitted....

76mm is just under 1200cc.
They come in three compression options so it depends which ones they are.

Re: 36mm CV Carbs onto a Z1000A1

The 1000J and 1100 motors used BS34's so maybe the 36's may fit J rubbers at a push if they are the correct spacing but they are likely ex Suzuki so won't be.
For a Z900/1000 motor they wouldn't be that great over the stock VM's and more likely a backwards step especially for bottom end response.
