Re: Z900 - Z1000 VM26 carb difference

Have replied to this on FB.
All VM26's on 900 and 1000 are basically the same bodies and all parts interchangable.

Yes! Those VM30's should work well enough.

Re: STAFFORD 2018

I'm thinking of maybe putting my z900 on my stand which is one of the inside halls. As I have never had a stand at the event before, what's the security like when the event is closed? i.e is it safe to leave the bike on my stand over night? Cheers Had no problems leaving my bikes on the club stand ...

Re: Engine oil

ZEd1015, I wasn't suggesting you ( or anyone else ) had copied and pasted or Googled. Apologies if you got that impression. Ita01, not at all. My post has no connection to and is not in response to yours except to state that, like you, anything I post is from actual personal experience and not some...

Re: Engine oil

All i can say is that my comments are from actual personal experience and not hearsay or something i copied and pasted from google or wherever.. As for Rock oil TRM, regardless of it being JASO or not, is not specifically a race oil despite that being their main marketing angle and is designed for u...

Re: Z1000 output bearing

As Fer says. The reliefs in the outer race were to allow insertion of the ball bearings on initial assembly. You need to replace the bearing with one of the same load rating to avoid premature failure. The original bearings do last a very long time under normal circumstances though so unless damaged...

Re: Engine oil

There is nothing wrong with using fully synth in most engines BUT it is the roller bearing crank in these and others that fully synth is not friendly as it allows the rollers to skid at much lower rpms which causes premature wear. If you are going to use fully synth in a Z then it must be specifical...

Re: Carbs for sale

Re: Carbs for sale

VM26mm's from either Z900 or Z1000.
Only by checking the jetting sizes and needle codes will you pinpoint the exact year/model they are off.
Otherwise the bodies are the same and if functioning correctly they will run ok on any 9 or 1000 with the suitable main jet correction.

Re: Carb queery

Really need pics as your explanation is a bit confusing regarding all the 'T' pieces and the actual bike you have RX1000 ?? but the pipe to the 2nd carb inlet rubber is for vacuum a fuel tap and the two open tee's should be carb breathers which would normally just have open pipes attached that would...

Re: Engine oil

Any decent 10/40 semi will do (Avoid fully synth unless it's Rock oil TRM20/60 for tuned or race motors).
Silkolene/Fuchs Super 4 works well.

Re: spark plug query

Over fueling on the low end.
Try weakening the mix slightly with the air screws.
