Re: 1100R 75mm PISTON

Many thanks guys,
Eastwoods are closed on a Monday, Suzuki performance also sell single pistons.
I will check the valve cut outs - thanks

Base gasket has dissolved for want of a better word, causing the block to drop, I was luck it didnt cause any more damage as it was around 110mph

1100R 75mm PISTON

Guys,
Long Shot I know, but does anyone out there have a spare 75mm piston 1170cc ( 18mm wrist pin) for my sick 1100r ?
Base gasket has turned to basically mush, & block has dropped, causing a partial seizure.

Re: Z1100 R1 1985

Really tidy Bike Scot,

I found the RS carbs with open trumpets a bit noisy & scary - Worried about debris being sucked in, so I stuck a set of RAMAIR sock filters over them, seemed to do the trick.

Your right, cant beat a Kerker with race baffle :biggrin

Re: Lawson Jigsaw Project

I got the engine stripped down,..... Bore size is 75mm, intake valves appear to be 38mm.(Not sure if this is correct), so I will need to get a manual from somewhere. Tested all the combustion chambers and there is no valve leak whatsoever. Pistons are all like new with no marks, not sure if they are...

Re: Lawson Jigsaw Project

Well, Someone please remind me... NEVER believe all that you are told with regards to a complete Engine well built & put together !!! After a nice run out, my 1100R decided to have a bit of a top end rattle n roll coming back home. Managed to nurse it back home ( gently) & on pulling the roc...

Re: APE manual camchain tensioner adjustment.

Eventually got to the bottom of my issue.
Not mechanical at all !!
Bad fuel & a poor inline filter!!

All sorted now
