Re: Wanted - DYNA S Ignition

How desperate for it are you? My Z900 is just having a Dyna S removed to be replaced by Dyna 2000. Absolutely nothing wrong with it but needed the programmable ignition settings for the very high compression motor in the bike as it pinks. It will all be back with me next weekend and happy to sell o...

Re: Mudeford - Christchurch

Good on yer lad! lad! Like it around there. Friday, I rode mine back from Ringwood - 50 miles, first time on it for about 6 months  Mudeford Quay is one of my favourite places. Had you been to see Ray Debben ? Nope, had me bike over at Motherinlaws for a bit, but missed it so rode it back home!

Re: 1973 Z1-NOISE IN MOTOR

As mentioned, cam end-float is a tingy metallic noise, often more apparent when bike over on sidestand, not uncommon & nowt to worry about.

:pop

Here we go...………………...

Stick with decent mineral or semi-synth, make sure designed for "wet clutch" (not car oil) - these engines were designed for basic oil - simple is best.
Change it regularly along with filter & it'll be fine.

Re: 1973 Z1-NOISE IN MOTOR

At least you don't have to disturb the top-end...…

Just flip the motor over & rip the bottom casing off & have a play!

Good luck,

Re: C5 Ignition

As you say - cannot see that sort of gain in power - even the points ignition must burn most of the fuel?
Optical ignition is okay, but needs to be set in darkened surrounds usually - like the old Pirahna (Newtronics) systems.
Dyna is proven technology & works well.
