Re: Project Tetanus - H1 500 - Never Again
Well, the world of pain concerning my H1 mongrel project never seemed to end, but finally I finished the rebuild (apart from that I've misplaced the speedo cable :blush ) - now just the challenges of DVLA to overcome. As it's a mongrel (part H1f, part kh500) I wasn't too concerned about going with t...

Re: Out for quick road test
Cheers Tonto - I believe you have seen it 'in the flesh' at WIllingham albeit a few years ago. (btw - still working on the 400 - hopefully will get it all back together and working in the next few weeks) Kev Kev, I do recall seeing you over at Willingham but thought you were on a Z1r and another ti...

Re: Hello From Lincolnshire
Hi, nice looking A1 you've got
I'm Not too far away from you (about 8 miles south of Lincoln): often have a sunny day bimble over towards Fulbeck, Caythorpe, Leadenham on my z900.
Keep the pics coming of your resto.
Cheers Tim

Re: Project Tetanus - H1 500 - Never Again
Kev, yes Alan was my source for help on the H1: honest genuine guy who knows his stuff.
I do remember meeting at Ted1Rs Z1OC meet Willingham, also maybe the Skeggy venture ?
Alan, nice work on the S2 - I had a GPZ1100B2 back in the day, cracking bike and proper quick.
Cheers Tim

Re: Project Tetanus - H1 500 - Never Again
Kev, that sounds so similar to my triples experience. This was the first resto that I nearly walked away from - although I was fortunate to know an "old school" mechanic / garage owner (who races 2 strokes - and I discovered had built / restored a few Kwak Triples) - he sorted the engine f...

Project Tetanus - H1 500 - Never Again
About 6 years ago I decided I needed a H1 or KH 500 triple, so I looked for a project bike, I found one (from a supposed reputable source) which, sadly turned out to be an absolute and perpetual nightmare. I've restored a few bikes in my time, but this one sold on eBay as a running H1f resto has bee...

Re: Maintenance kz1000
Hi, not sure if it is of help but I've used a chap called Alan Cooper, he has an "old school" bike mechanic set up at Cotgrave Notts: trades as Twistgrip motorcycles, he fixed a few gremlins on my Z1000, and has currently totally rebuilt my H1 engine as it had destroyed itself. Totally hon...

Re: Bike lifts
Tim, After 4 or 5 years use ive been pleased with Switzer - I think they (like almost everything else) are probably all made in China. Pretty sure when I checked out the Sealy equivalent it had a country of origin of China. Getting my old Z13 on its stand on the lift was a bit daunting :ghostface :g...
