Re: GPz 1100 A1 Unitrack timing

Any advice is welcome tbh.

I've been putting the tank back on to check timing (by strobe) and general running etc. The same applies to the fuel filter which is correct etc.

Re: GPz 1100 A1 Unitrack timing

Zed 1015. I thought that could be a possibility so I took the cam cover off and turned the crank till it was TDC at 1&4. The chain link rivets were as per the manual. From memory excluding the rivet right by the arrow/line which you treat as 0, it was 44 rivets to the IN line. I can always check...

Re: GPz 1100 A1 Unitrack timing

Good afternoon all. An update. I thought it made sense to add to this thread. It's back together and I think the timing is good, I moved the pickups and they are within the tolerances mentioned above. It starts but won't rev past 5k and at idle it fluctuates a bit. In addition if I operate the fast ...

Re: GPz 1100 A1 Unitrack timing

Cheers guys.

That is good news that the marks are ok, I'll try a few other things on the list that is in the manual to try and see what is causing it.

It's strange that on these bikes there is nothing to adjust to alter the timing.

GPz 1100 A1 Unitrack timing

Good evening. I submitted a previous post re starting issues and after I put a new starter motor in, it started but was boggy so I wonder whether I have moved the timing whilst changing the starter motor as it was a bugger to get in. I've removed the cam cover and cam adjuster and if I turn the cran...

Re: GPz 1100 A1 Unitrack won't start

Good afternoon all. An update, with a request for more info/knowledge please. I sourced (shout out to the top people at Z Power) a replacement starter motor and I eventually managed to install it, I had to remove the stator cover to do it and after I got it all back together I thought happy days. It...

Zed9.

Cheers.

I'll give that a go, earlier on today I connected the starter motor up direct from the battery and it didn't work. I plan to remove it tomorrow and I'll test it properly and give it a clean.

GPz 1100 A1 Unitrack won't start

Good afternoon. I've not had the bike for long and all was good until yesterday when I managed to take it for it's first spin. It started fine and ran well however after about 5 miles the DFi warning signal flashed at me and so I headed home. When I got home I switched the engine off and it won't st...

Re: Z900 A4 Starting( or not) for 1st time after full restoration

Good morning.

Apologies if I'm getting the eggs out, can you swop the fuel pipes over to the other outlets and see if the problem moves?

Gpz 1100 Unitrack - Sorted.

Good morning all.

As per title really, I've been toying with the idea of getting a second bike and the Gpz has always rattled around in my head, so if anyone has one that they have been considering selling please let me know.

I am after a bike that I can get on and ride.

Cheers
