Re: For sale 750 turbo project

Cheers Garry, yeah I started adding up the price of the parts and quickly got well past the asking price, some of the NOS bits are no longer available either. I’d have loved to carry on with it but by the time I got around to finishing it I’d likely be too old to ride it !

For sale 750 turbo project

Okay after a lot of thinking I've decided I'm moving on my last 750 turbo project as it’s just sitting there gathering dust. It’s a 1984 Kawasaki Zx750e turbo Project bike c/w NOVA cert and dating certificate (July 1984). The bike is now dismantled for restoration as my next stage before reality kic...

Rounded nut extractor

There’s a fair few extractor tools available for rounded nuts/studs etc but most seem to have crap reviews. I’ve got a rounded nut with very limited access ie I can just to say get my hand in with a real struggle and get a socket and ratchet on it….normally with nuts like this I would hammer on a sm...

Re: Gpz550 on C&C

Nice bike but the asking price is just plain stupid. The one owner bit is bollox too as it’s the 3rd owner that’s selling it….not that owner number makes a massive difference, it’s just irritating

Re: Z1000j Lawson rep

Brings back memories….I bought this originally from Alan at Kipkawa, this was one of their race bikes and reckoned as close to Eddies bike as you will get. He got in touch with me after a while to ask if he could borrow the front calipers to take measurements in order to get another set made. I’ve a...

Re: Painting

Racepaint at Eastwood are on with a set for me at the moment, I’ll let you know what it’s like when I pickup if you like, based on what I’ve seen and recommendations I’m expecting perfection. Having used dream machine a few times over the years, they’re either superb or just okay. What about Hutch d...

Re: GP750 turbo

Cheers folks, and yeah thanks Rob I know the 750 forum well having been a member for many years though I’ve been quiet on there for a while. The last turbo I built is the green and black ‘paxo’ (my nickname) turbo which is still well known on the site…..I’m hoping this one will be at least as good…i...

Re: Fuel tank wanted

Hi Ted, I’ve definitely got a tank in my spares that was on a z1000 I had a few years ago. I’ll dig it out tomorrow if I get chance and take some pics to see if it’s any use to you. Rust free from memory

Re: GP750 turbo

Yeah I’m up for that, I’ll have to check the rules on where I’m allowed to put it not being a z1. I’ll kick it off with more pics of the actual state of it when i get it on the bench

Re: GP750 turbo

I pretty much paid for the sum of the parts really though I have absolutely no intention or interest in breaking it. There’s a lot missing and a few bits wrong. Ignition casing is wrong as is front mudguard…..so given the mileage thats odd or likely been dropped. Tanks missing as it was completely r...

Re: GP750 turbo

Cheers Will yeah I’m going to need some workshop time on this one, its gonna put a serious dent in my ever dwindling pile of bits….as well as my wallet. I hate to see a decent bike disintegrating and couldn’t resist
