Hi chris Thanks for the reply, can I ask what sealey chain rivet tool you have? Looking on the website they list 3 Ms024 Smc4 Vs779 Only the vs779 mentions chains up to 630 but this kit looks like another I have used previously which broke. The MSC 024 looks decent but the instructions state only up...

Hi all
Fitting a new chain and sprockets 630 did. Looking for a suitable chain rivet tool. Any recommendations as looking on ebay not all chain rivet tools will rivet 630 chain?

Getting there with it now. Got the exhaust on but had to bend the bracket. I'm happy so far. Need to sort my list out for some more bits from z power.

hi all sorry i havent posted regarding the z1 for a while, thanks for the comments. i have just had the garage refurbished , new roof and drylined to keep the winter out. moving everything back this weekend and then i shall be completing the z1 and looking forward to getting out on her next year. iv...

Hi All 20200426_211823 (1).jpg thanks for the help, in the end i bottomed out the studs and measured them referencing another engine i have in the shed. i shall know how it went when i pop the head on and measure the thread length poking out. should be ok i think. Hi guys. Thanks for all the replies. Has left me with some dilemmas all seem reasonable answers so I'm unsure which way to go. But inserting with care is the order of the day. Anybody else had success with this.? Thanks again. Dave

Hi thanks for the info. I've just checked my studs and they are pre coated similar to yours. The torque setting is handy too. Thanks again.

Hi all re-fitting a new set genuine crankcase studs to my z1 this afternoon. Cannot find a torque setting in the haynes manual.
