Re: Z’s in Gloucester

I'm not sure exactly where the Highnam bypass is but if it's on the A40, it very possibly me and a mate, heading for a few days riding in the Brecon Beacons. We took the road to the east of Gloucester (think it was the A417) and then picked up the A40. I was on a 73 orange and brown Z1 and my mate w...

Re: 73 Z1 console inset

Steve, removing the original was my concern too. As you probably know, the circular plastic piece can be pushed out from the back. I then started at the top with a very small screwdriver just to prise the decal away from the plastic. Once I'd got past the oval hole, I changed to a larger but very wo...

I've just fitted one of the Z-fever panels and the quality is excellent, very difficult to tell from the originals. Would recommend

Re: 72 Z1

One thing to be aware of Dave...I recently had to have a cam cap repaired on a Z900 I was building for a chap and found that even with that amount of repair weld showing, it was holding off the cam cover from being tightened down correctly. It's worth checking before you try to tighten the cam cover...

Repro Z900 A4 Wiring Loom

Hi all,

I've used one of the repro wiring looms for the Z900A4, and found that the wiring for the hazard relay is missing. However, it does have the 3 wires for the hazard rectifier...see pic. If you've come across the same problem, how have you overcome this?

Thanks

Switchgear Part

Hi all,
I'm in need of a LH switchgear part...it's the high/low beam switch which as you can see, is broken and is stopping me from screwing the sliding knob on top of the switchgear.

Happy to buy just this part or an old switchgear that contains it, even if other parts are missing.

Thanks, Steve

You're right Andrew, the pattern ones do have 3 holes in the end of the rubber...I should have spotted that!

Re: What bike is this riders footpeg off?

Hi Andrew, Not sure how long you've had those footrests, but I also have a pair on the shelf...bought from ebay about 17-18 years ago. They were being sold as Z1/Z900 items at the time but I realised when they arrived they weren't correct. I believe they are early pattern items...you'll note the rub...

Brake Failure indicator bracket

The chap who I'm restoring a Z900 for has had some brake failure indicator brackets made in stainless, copied from my original. £7 each incl. post (to UK). The part no. is 32060-014

Please send a PM if interested.
Thanks,
Steve
