Re: Z1000 a1 alloy wheels

Kawasaki aftermarket alloy wheels for the Z1000 As had a 19” front they weren’t Z1R wheels, although the back may have been similar I don’t really know what the Z1R wheel is like....

Very period - good to see... :D :D :D If you hate it you obviously weren’t there at the time :blah

Personally I’d have kept the z1000 on the side panels white as a nod to originality :Oo :biggrin

Re: z1000 starting problem

On that Bandit the new battery that was actually able to start it didn’t drop to anything like the same extent... the dodgy battery was showing twelve bolts plus unless it was under load, press the starter and all the lights dimmed and it wouldn’t spin the motor at all but then would show 12...

Re: z1000 starting problem

Try putting the meter on the battery terminals and churn over the starter and see what the battery voltage drops to under load. It shouldn’t drop that much really not much below 12 - I’ve seen bikes with that issue and the battery voltage went through the floor down to 6 or 7 under load then jumped ...

Locating plate J,R GPz rhs switch

As above wanted a Locating plate for J,R GPz rhs switch. If anyone has a broken or incomplete switch they don’t need all I need is the metal plate which screws inside that has the small locating spigot for the bars. The previous owner ground them off in his enthusiasm to fit Renthals meaning the swi...

Re: Z900 forks

I’ve got one for some reason - it’s a LH stamped K220L inside the leg, it’s missing the axle cup. I can put up pics if it might be any use. It’s probably off a Z1000A1. Been sitting for years but would refurb.

Re: Hello all.

One other quick question. Is there a phosphor bronze(?) sleeve that acts as a guide for the fork leg? I remember changing te seals in the Zeph and it still leaked until I changed the worn sleeve (and another set of seals). I haven't got a manual or parts diagram as yet and haven't stripped them to ...
