Re: Z1000 a1 alloy wheels

Weird... Back to the OP - the best ones appear to be the 79-80 A3 A3A A4 which have a 19” front and are listed as a fitment for A1 and A2. Z1R rear seems to be the same. Z1R front will fit but will be smaller. Some 650s and others are the same too - dig through Partzilla to find compatibilit...

Re: Z1000 a1 alloy wheels

Maybe I’m wrong and the thing came a complete wheel then it was forty years ago... the same rear wheel seems common to the 650s and Z1R and is also listed for the A1... Catalog 41073-1035 KawasakiMotorcycle 1977KZ1000 - KZ1000-A1 REAR WHEEL/TIRE/HUB/CHAIN ('79-'80 A3/A3) This product fits the follow...

Well all I know is these went on here in 1979 or early 1980 and it’s a 19” front it’s still out in the garage. This pic is 1980.

Re: Z1000 a1 alloy wheels

Mine A1 had cast wheels put on it about 1980. My brother worked in the local Kawasaki centre at the time and they were flogging them really cheap so it was cheaper to put them in than replace the spoked rear which had already started to rot.... they came from Kawasaki as bare wheels and didn’t need ...

Re: Z1000 a1 alloy wheels

Kawasaki aftermarket alloy wheels for the Z1000 As had a 19” front they weren’t Z1R wheels, although the back may have been similar I don’t really know what the Z1R wheel is like....

Re: z1000 starting problem

On that Bandit the new battery that was actually able to start it didn’t drop to anything like the same extent... the dodgy battery was showing twelve bolts plus unless it was under load, press the starter and all the lights dimmed and it wouldn’t spin the motor at all but then would show 12...

It shouldn’t drop that much really not much below 12 - I’ve seen bikes with that issue and the battery voltage went through the floor down to 6 or 7 under load then jumped ...
