Re: Historic Tax

Went to the post office with V112 but they couldn't do anything with it as only for use when changing vehicle to Historic and MOT exemption. Spoke to DVLA and DVSA and they both confirmed what Steve said previously. As long as it's 40 years old and not modified (and roadworthy), then no mot is autom...

Re: Historic Tax

That's what I thought until I went onto http://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk. It came up in big red box telling me I could be subject to a 1000 quid fine ! "This vehicle's MOT has expired You can be fined up to £1000 for driving without a valid MOT This vehicle may be MOT exempt, for more infor...

Re: Historic Tax

How do you go about applying for the free MOT bit when the bike is already on Historic status. Just noticed it showing my Z1B mot ran out 2 weeks ago ! ?

Re: Z1a BHP

Rev's delibereatly kept low due to being a classic bike. It was dyno'd to set up engine and carbs as they were only bench set previously, my bike has covered only 250 miles since full restoration. Hi Steve, I trust you will be riding it down to the Ace Cafe .......that should run it in nicely and g...

Re: Clutch Release Mechanism

If you mean the "easy clutch" kit then yes I've got one fitted to my Z1B along with the Push Rod Roller kit. It works very well and the clutch is as light as my modern hydraulic one on my Hodna. Gear changing is an easy 2 finger affair. You can get both these itms from Cybike...cheaper and...

Z1R Fork Oil

What's the recommended fork oil weight to use on a Z1R ?

Amount as per manual ?

Cheers, Steve

Those rear shocks are in excellent condition for originals. Have you refurbed them ?

Re: Z1000 a1 exhausts?

The pipes are very quiet, but I can't remember how loud originals were for a Z650 ! The bike is completely standard inc carbs and jetting. One thing, the balance pipe is a bit awkward to fit and sits right under the oill filter so you have to split the pipe and swing the pipework to get the filter o...

Re: Z1000 a1 exhausts?

I've got a set of OS pipes on my 650. They are full stainless system and have been on there about 8 years. They polish up really well, only discolouring on the downpipes.
