Re: Powder coating crankcases
I didn't do much except degrease them and Cox's did the rest. I also hear good things about Centurian Motorcycle Projects and their Richochet coatings but not sure of the costs involved.

Re: Powder coating crankcases
Here are my Z1R cases. I had them blasted and 2 pack painted by R D Cox in Reading. That was 4 years ago and they still look like new 2500 miles later.

Re: Carb overflow pipes location
It loops around the right hand engine mounting bolt collar. The 4 overflow pipes go through the round ring and are guided to the back of the engine. Hope that helps !

Xmas Eve Runout
Just finished a top end rebuild on the A4 so took it out for an initial 50 mile running in ride. Ran lovely.
Not often you can do this on Christmas Eve ! Merry Xmas everybody......

Piston Ring Confusion
I've currently got the top end of my 900 A4 stripped down as it was smoking under high revs (6K plus) and it was oil burning. I am struggling to find anything wrong. It was refurbed about 3000 miles ago before I got it, with documented new valves, valve guides, viton seals, rings etc. Everything loo...

Re: Cylinder Sleeve O Ring
Does anybody know where to get the 73mm barrel o rings from, part no. 92055-054. Z power sell them singly at £11.45 each ! I was hoping to find them cheaper than this. They look to be 2.5mm cross section but I'm measuring the old ones from the engine. Thanks, Steve Can anyone confirm the dimensions...

Thanks for the replies. Am I right in assuming the o rings at the bottom of the barrels are 73mm x 2.5 x section ?

Re: What do Bolt codes on part numbers mean
G means GOLD ZINC FINISH (letter D on Pan Head Screws)
B means ZINC (letter F on spring washers)
N means CHROME ( letter E on washers )
C means BLACK (letter F on washers and nuts, K on spring washers !) )
R means STAINLESS
I think that covers most of it, but there maybe more !

Re: Z1R restoration project
Hi Peter, `I have restored a Z1R in the last couple of years. They are fairly straight forward as long as all the specific Z1R bits are with the bike as some of them are difficult to find and very expensive when you do ! That looks very complete form the pics and a really good base for a refurb. Her...
