Re: Twin disc conversion

As far as I know, the discs are the same as the early 650's , Z1000's , Z750 and some of the tripples.

Re: Twin disc conversion

Just doing the same upgrade. The correct calipers for the A4 are the front of forks mounted ones. These were only used on the B1 version of the 650. I think the caliper bodies are identical, it's the mounting plate which is handed. The correct discs are a pair of 5mm jobs. 7mm items would also work ...

Re: THOUGHT IT WAS A Z1 NOT SURE ANY MORE

Unless you specifically wan't to do a restoration I'd go for a 'turn Key' finished bike as it'll probably cost less than the Restoration costs of many of the 'Fix-me-up' bikes that might at first glance seem like a bargain. As I'm sure lot's on here will confirm, they ALWAYS end up costing more tha...

Re: Z1a Restoration

The mounting brackets are different, the UK (long fender) is longer and has a different angle to match the fender.

US (short guard ) part no. 23036-017

Euro (Long guard) part no. 23036-033

They look completely wrong if fitted on the wrong fender.

Re: timing

Not sure how the Boyer thing works, but you would get this on the standard set up if the points cam was fitted 180 deg out.

That would mean removing the bolt from the advance unit and turn the cam and refitting.

Front Brake Splitter

What colour should the twin brake splitter be on a Z900 A4. Mine is a mixture of dirty silver and dull black ?

I'm guessing satin black but would like to know before refinishing the item.

Thanks Steve
