Re: REX Mirrors.

I can confirm that the copies from Wemoto are indeed utter shite!
Genuine only is the way to go.

Re: Generator output z1000

I'm with Rob on this one.
Despite you fitting a new generator windings set, I'd still test for the correct AC output between each set of yellow wires.
50 - 75V AC across each pair of wires. It's a simple test that will take minutes to do, at least then you can eliminate that.

Re: Long shot... 1973 Z1 registration TJJ 90M

Jim. I totally understand remeniscing about all the good times we had on a particular bike, but at the end of the day they are just lumps of metal that have no connection with us. If you fail to track it down then maybe the best way forward would be to buy a similar model and make it like your old o...

Re: Tappets/buckets

Agree, I've had to swap buckets around before now to ensure no tight spots. Difficult to measure but 1 thou' is more than enough.

I've seen blueing on buckets where someone has increased the exhaust stud diameter and depth before! Going to far in can distort the material close by in that area.

Re: Kerker Exhaust on Z1000 MKII

I made one from a piece of Dural.
Cardboard template first then the real thing.
If you can find someone with a bandsaw it's a big help.

A nice H****

Picked this up last year (thanks Garry L for the tip off). 1983 CB1100RD, first owned by the late F1 driver James Hunt. 4-1 removed... had a new 100% perfect replica stainless exhaust system made for it then ceramic coated in the correct gloss black (very expensive but worth it). All bodywork rid of...

Re: Injector o ring kit

Scott. Do your research and be very wary of improper materials. O-rings for fuel are usually black or green in the automotive industry, but it's the material spec that you need to ensure meets the requirements of OE O-rings. There are a helluva lot of cheap and nasty materials out there within after...

Re: Z1R Speedometer

Bill. An old customer of mine is selling his Z1R-TC to a guy in New Zealand, who will now need a KM/H speedo! If you have a KM/H speedo to swap, and it's in mint or very good condition, I can arrange for the swap if you like. I would imagine the present owner would want just a small fee for postage ...

Re: Z1R Speedometer

Bill I spent ages trying to find a 160mph Z1R speedo for the last Z1R-TC I built for the customer and couldn't find one anywhere. I the end I persuaded him to have one of my gauge overlay kits fitted to convert from KM/H to MPH. The end result was more than perfect..... I've been supplying these kit...

Like I said Paul, sometimes the most cheapest and easiest fix sorts it.
