Re: Wiseco 1200 crankshaft choice
Thanks Rob, your reply is reassuring. I am happy with the crankshaft I have rebuilt, I just tend to over think things! Cheers, Mick

Wiseco 1200 crankshaft choice
Hi guys, I am building a 1200 wiseco engine based on z900a5 crankcases. I have a z1 crankshaft that I have rebuilt and welded, what I am asking is, would there be any advantages to using an early z1000 crankshaft? I am aware that the outer crankshaft bearings are slightly larger and the webs are hea...

Z900a4 indicator collar
Hi Guys, I am hoping that one of you kind people might have a collar for the rear indicator stem (the chrome piece that goes on the inner part of the indicator bracket in the rubber bush) that they could measure with vernier and give me the dimensions. Part number is 92027-147, if it helps. I am mis...

Re: Electronic tacho
Thanks Dave, I had thought about grafting another tacho into the old housing, I've read about smiths instruments being used, I was hoping to just buy one as I have plenty of other bits needing making and yes, I'm using unitrack camshafts in the build, so I'm not sure what the redline should be? Than...

Electronic tacho
I know this subject has been posted about, but is anyone running an electronic tacho with success? There is mention of zpower ones packing up or fluctuations after so many miles. I will be using a j type head and want a tacho that matches the early type speedo. Does anyone know if the z1000j one wou...

Z900rs rear light plug
Hi Guys, just acquired a z900rs rear light for my z thou special, just wondering if anyone knows where I can buy a plug to fit, without having to butcher a wiring loom. Thanks, Mick

Re: Wiseco 1200 big bore
I think the wiseco pistons are 10.5:1 compression ratio, yes I am using uprated studs and nuts. Hopefully some knowledgeable person will set is straight regarding gaskets etc

Wiseco 1200 big bore
Hi Guys, after some advice. I have bought a wiseco 1200 kit for my z thou special. I have an unnamed big block which I could use, or bore out a set of standard z1000 barrels to suit the oversized liners with the kit. Are there any downsides to running a big block on a road bike? Also, the last big b...

Re: Z1,Z900, z1000 A1/A2 Crankshaft
Hi Rob, is a Z1r crankshaft the same as a Z1 crankshaft, or same as Z1000A1? The reason I ask is, I have a Z1 crankshaft, which I haven't pulled apart yet and was hoping to find another the same so I can build one good one out of the two. I am interested though, cheers, Mick

Re: Z1,Z900, z1000 A1/A2 Crankshaft
Thanks for the info, I don't need the big end or crank bearings as I removed the old bearing rollers and fitted new rollers into the cages, I mentioned this in case anyone else is looking to replace theirs. Still wanting a clean crankshaft or any good parts, thanks, Mick

Re: Z1,Z900, z1000 A1/A2 Crankshaft
Still looking for a rust free crankshaft with minimal wear if anyone has anything, also the outer bushes or races with no pitting, anything useful, even damaged. I now have a supply of high quality German needle rollers to refurbish the outer crankshaft bearings if anyone is needing them. I can pres...
