Re: Speedo/Tacho seal Z900A4
I could do if I cannot get one. It's a while since I pulled them apart, but from memory, there is a thin lip groove on the seal that goes over a lip on one half of the body to locate it. Re-assembling the clocks and crimping the ring on will be fiddly enough without trying to keep the seal in the ri...

Speedo/Tacho seal Z900A4
Needing a seal for Z900a4 speedo or tacho if anyone has one, the seal that goes between the two halves of the clock, where the crimp ring holds the two halves together. Managed to butcher one quite badly when dismantling them. Would take a scrap speedo or tacho if anyone has anything, cheers.

Re: Crankshaft machining
Thanks Al, certainly worth some thought, my only reservation would be how much torque it would take before it let go. I am considering all options at this stage, cheers, Mick

Crankshaft machining
Just wondering if anyone has tried machining any part of the crankshaft? I want to add an extension piece to the ignition (right) side of my crankshaft, with a keyway. I am thinking along the lines of boring out the centre of the end where the advance retard would be and press fitting a spigot shaft...

Re: Advance retard unit.
I think i may be able to help with the outer bearing race is some knowledgeable person can confirm that a MK11 or ST one is the same? I saved them when I had a scrapping session, I may also have an advance retard unit, but it will be either Z1 or Z900 I think, I guess I will need to identify it with...

Re: Kawasaki Z1/Z900 top cam roller DIY repair guide
It is commendable, making your own improvements and saving money at the same time. I too have done the billet ali centres, much like Rob's original ones (I seem to crib a lot of his ideas!) . The point I wanted to make is, in your second post, you say you spun it up with an airline to test it. I wou...

Z900A4 top idler dismantling
Hi Guys, can someone tell me if it's possible to dismantle a Z900 A4 top idler? I'm planning on doing away with the rubber bushes and using solid aluminium and new bearing as per Rob Meggitt and want to take it apart in a manner that I can re-assemble it. It looks like the spot welds need drilling o...

Z900A4 swingarm grease nipple
Would some kind person let me know what the thread size and pitch is for the grease nipple in a Z900A4 swingarm? I am assembling after having it powdercoated and need to put a tap through it, as it wasn't masked prior and I can't find the nipple to measure it. It looks around 10mm, but I don't want ...

Re: Z1 original tailpiece
Z1 on the left, Z900 on the right. I think this clearly shows the different shape.

Re: Z1 original tailpiece
It's a different shape to my Z900 at the rear, more rounded, so I am sure it is Z1, not Z900.

Z1 original tailpiece
I have an original Z1 tailpiece for sale, excellent condition, no splits or damage, non original paint, not sure what it's worth so going to say £100 plus postage, though open to reasonable offers, cheers, Mick
