Yeah, I know. I was using the later carb syncing as an example that even without the top cap on it made little or no difference to how the bike runs.
Therefore those seals being a less than perfectly airtight is not your issue.

If your asking about the seals on the throttle slide shaft/carb body, I've never seen a rack of carbs that needed them replaced. Any air ingress there would need to get past the slide to reach the throat. After all, carb syncing is done without any carb body cap on with the later bodies with no detr...

Your jetting is vm24 650 sizes which is too small for 1000cc. You've got bigger throats with smaller jets.
Spitting back through the carbs is mostly due to a lean mixture/air leaks.

If you are using genuine Kawasaki inlet rubbers then just a smear of holymar will be sufficient to fill any imperfections in either face. If you are going repop rubbers and have no airbox fitted then the carb rack will need additional support to stop carb bounce splitting the VERY soft rubbers they ...
