Re: A few restoration Qs

Swing arm bearing. Whack em from the opposite side with a drift. They are only bushes. I would replace with tapered rollers. Means putting in a spacer between bearing seats to keep the seats the right distance apart. Primary chain. Measure the slack you may be surprised!!!!. I used to ride my 650 HA...

Re: A few restoration Qs

I have restored several 650's so can advise on your likely pitfalls and issues. Check the primary drive chain slack. replace if close to slack limit. Shit job which involves splitting the cases and crank out. Too much slack and it'll jump the teeth and feel like your final drive chain is jumping und...

Re: projector tip plugs.

Hi Kev, another forum member drop there 650 off to me for some work. It had projector 8,s in and ran ok. Ran a lot better with denso 22's. There was no clearance issues and no apparent benefits.

Re: Yep! Sorry Starter Clutch

Sounds like you used a starter kit and not a new starter. Those kits never last more than 6 months at best and are a false economy and are only good for conning people out of hard earned. I had a member from another forum ask me to replace his starter clutch on a 650 which had been done 3 months pre...

Re: Zpower carb to head rubbers. (650)

Mystery solved. Im embarressed to say that I didn't notice it when I fitted them but no4 carb rubber doesnt have the metal plate moulded inside it so I would never have got a satisfactory seal. Fortunately the rh original ones were not one of the ones I thought suspect so just swopped no 4 back. Man...

Re: Zpower carb to head rubbers. (650)

Its definately a bad seal with air passing David, but because they are so soft the weight of the carbs pulling down seems to be enough to break the seal between rubber and head. Other than hoping a new set would be better heath robinson may have to get involved.

Zpower carb to head rubbers. (650)

Over winter I noticed one of my 650s had a few suspect looking carb head mount boots. Ordered up some new from Zpower, noticed they felt very soft but fitted them and looked forward to summer. Took that bike out for the first time today and noticed a strange noise but it ran perfectly. So back home ...
