Re: Z1B Carbs overflowing, normal but unusual ?
The bowl fills to higher than the overflow pipe and continues to do so until the surface tension over the overflow tube is broken. It'll then drain until the fuel level is level with the top of the tube. It'll continue to repeat each time the surface tension is broken so shows as bursts of flow rath...

Re: Z1B Carbs overflowing, normal but unusual ?
That's carb 3. Carb one is one left as you sit on the bike. The overflow is flowing more fuel out than the float needles is letting in so it's dumping fuel then refilling then dumping. The float are likely sticking due to a crungy pivot hinge. Whacking the bowl with s screw driver handle will usuall...

Re: How to change to historic vehicle status
Get a date of manufacture letter from Vjmc, not sure if Jerry does them. Ross at kawasaki UK can do one also but charges.
That's all you need to give the dvla as proof of historic qualification.
I've had v5's changed to historic on uninsured or mot'd bikes.

Re: KZ650c Master Cyl refurb
Bill, they are simple enough to do. The issue you'll have is finding a rear cylinder seal kit! However luckily the front mc seals are the same. I'd guess single disc b1 front master would be the one for your rear as it's a 1/2 in mc. Double disc seal kits should be the 5/8 size. Might check your rea...

Re: Z1000r refurb
I painted an elr for a mate. He supplied a decal set which didn't wrap around. We spent a lot of time confirming which was original and every kawasaki literature and period photo we found had them wrapped around so that's what we went with. Kawasaki brochure pics. Re: KZ900 A4 Slow starter
Battery's can read plenty of volts but if it's not sending the amps required not much will happen. Jump the bike off a non running car battery. If that then spins the motor over then your bike battery is dead. If it's a gel battery that's been allowed to go near flat after charging they can show ple...

Re: Z1B wanted, must be clean and loved.
Think you'll struggle to find even a ropey B for 10k ish. A = £13-16k, B= £12 - 15k at the moment. And that's an unknown quantity for engine condition. You can easily spend 1k + just to get it "satisfactory". I had another mate that paid £16k for a B from a Z specialist shop up north. In t...

Buzzworx and smethurst engine. Runs perfectly with Dyna.
Last person I put onto him was about 12 months ago but I'm not sure he's aware of the current climate re values.
How much have you to spend. Don't want to waste his or your time.
