Re: Z900 A4 fuel leak any ideas please?
Minimum spec for compression is 105PSI and no more than 15PSI difference between any two cylinders.
I've seen bikes with 100PSI on all four run nicer than one with higher figures but big variances.
As Warren has said, do hot and cold.

Re: backfiring
Thanks for reply, was awaiting original posters reply as to what sizes he used and how the bike now runs, as you know I've had plenty of issues with mine and despite spending a fortune on it still doesnt run correctly. I have no idea if the larger pilots will work or whether i need 20s or 22.5s, th...

Re: Z900 A4 fuel leak any ideas please?
Morning Guys, new day and all that!, firstly stripped out and cleaned all new Denso plugs, next removed points plate, cam and advance mechanism, completely stripped and lubricated then re fitted back to bike, i note cam can go either way round, which is silly as the plate itself is keyed, why key 1...

Re: backfiring
Hi Nigel what do you suggest think ones you sent in kit have 17.5 pilots in at mo, poster said 1 or 2 sizes up? You have the correct pilots for your carbs. But if you want to go bigger then next up is 20. I have stock: https://airevalleyclassics.co.uk/mikuni-pilot-jet-size-15-to-22.5.html

Re: backfiring

Re: Under seat decal
I suppose it depends on what kind of restoration you plan to do - if you are entering contours, or just making it pretty good, to please yourself. No harm in phoning Z power to see what they can do for you - they're very helpful in all Zeddish matters Don't get me wrong. Phil and the gang are great...

Re: Z900 A4 fuel leak any ideas please?
See the image from the workshop manual. You may find that when the exhaust arrow is lined up with the head, the inlet one may be slightly pointing down due to cam chain wear. If you are a tooth under (27) then the inlet cam arrow would be one tooth up. The only way to be sure is to remove the top ro...

Re: Shim adjustment
The head needs to come off and the valves need tipping at the very least. 0.30mm can be ground off the stem to get you in the 220 ish range but you will soon run out of adjustment and really need to be in the thicker end of the shim range which can be achieved by skimming the collets and retainers ...

Z-Power's stickers are OK if you just want a sticker, but sadly they are not very accurate reproductions based on the ones I've had from them.

Re: Shim adjustment
Sadly, you'll need to remove the head and valves and then have some metal trimmed off the valve stems. While you're at it, it would be advisable to check and sort the valve guides as seats. This is a job best left to those who are properly skilled and equipped. Depending where you are in the UK will...

Not stock but functional and unseen when fitted.
Indeed. Easy enough to do.
