Re: Latest z900 purchase

Spent a few hours checking it over yesterday and mode the following observations: The ignition is Dyna3! Chromed casings are pretty much rot free. Compression is really good at 125-135 PSI (cold) on all 4 cylinders. Whipped off the cam cover to find standard cams. Rear mudguard is not too bad once p...

Latest z900 purchase

Picked this z900 up from it's American owner last year and due to assorted issues it didn't arrive with until June. Haven't had any time to do anything other than give it a quick check over and start it up - started second prod and runs well. Obviously it not all original, but it's tidy enough. Prev...

Re: Ohlins

I can vouch for the ride quality of those shocks as I have a set on my ZRX. Asking price is fair too and a saving of at least £400 on new.
Good luck with the sale.

Correct, they have 'dents' for the rear axle and the centre stand. The markings are etched, not stamped.

Re: KZ1000A1 Rebuild

I have met and know Gerrard who runs Becane fairly well. He won't tell me where he gets them but I do know he does not make them himself. Interested to know how the differ from originals I've just compared photos from both companies and I'd say they are one and the same.... Although Becane didn't d...

The Becane guys claim to make their own, but I haven't seen photos good enough from them to compare to the Dutch made London ones.

Re: Removing A4 carbs

In my experience, if they exhibiting goop on the outside then it's worth taking them off and looking in the float bowls to see if they need a clean. Use new float bowl gaskets, I recommend the Keyster ones (and their rebuild kits) as they are not made form card and I have never seen any of them leak...

I'm interested in what you turn up. So far we have London-exhausts and the French chap. Neither are identical to original though..

Re: 4:2 exhausts....z1000 A options ??

They are working on the sidestand plate.
As per my other post on this topic, I'm already in discussion with these guys to get a club bulk buy - if we purchase 5 wee cab get 15% discount. Might be able to get that a bit higher as that was their first offer.
