Collection and Delivery

I may be requiring to have a motorcycle being picked up from the Liverpool area and the delivered to the East Sussex area.

Any recommendations for a good reliable and reasonably priced person/company?

Thanks

Andy

Re: 1976 Z900 A4 Plug Thread

I thought with timeserts that you have to counterbore the top surface so that the lip is below the head surface face or you will be tightening up the spark plug against the lip which can result in you unscrewing it? Unless you are planning to remove the head to fit the timesert?

Re: Delkevic 4-4 exhaust system or OEM

The only problem with aftermarket sets, I believe, is that the headers are not double skinned like the original ones were and as such you will get discoloration of the headers. Don't understand why they do not double skin them as the aftermarket sets for the CB750's are, so can't see why they do not...

Delkevic Z1 exhaust

Has anybody bought a set of the Delkevic exhausts for the Z1's? If so can you advise if they double skin the headers, like the originals, to stop them blueing?

Re: 1976 Z900A4 Valve clearance clarification

That's why I need some clarification. The genuine manual for the Z1, A's & B's gives that precise way of checking them. However, for the A4's and/or engine No 18866 on they give the revised procedure by aligning the marks on the individual cam sprockets such that you can do valves 1 & 3 an 2...

1976 Z900A4 Valve clearance clarification

Engine No: 115055 Clarification on valve clearance check. With the lines on the appropriate camshaft aligned with the cly hd you can check the clearances on No's 1 & 3 or 2 & 4. So in that case the relative lobes will be in different positions, see attached, is that correct position for both...

st/st brake hoses

Is there somewhere where you can get a full set of st/st hoses for a 76 Z900A4 with twin disc? I am looking for a set on which all the banjos and the inline connectors from the flex hose to solid pipe connectors are also st/st. Can somebody advise what that connector type is and what the thread is f...

Z900 A4 mirror head

Has anybody got a spare mirror plastic cover, as used on the Z900A4, or complete mirror and cover as in attached photos, in good condition? I believe that they are original design, if not what are they? Existing cover has several splits, so I only need the cover but happy for mirror and cover if ava...

Re: Z900A4 float levels

Yes you are absolutely right, should be No 1 on left and No 4 on right. Very much my own opinion that the air filter in or out does not seem to make much difference. As I indicated I have previously swapped all jets, main, pilot and emulsion tubes between No 3 & 4 and it has made no difference, ...

Re: Z900A4 float levels

Took the bike out again today on which the No 3 carb has had the needle dropped by one groove. Air screw on No 3 set two turns out to weaken the mixture even though it colourtuned around 1 1/2 turns out. Plugs are No 1 to right to No 4 on left. 1st photo done with 60mph chop and is with air filter f...

Re: Z900A4 float levels

Thanks for info about the plug taken at Donnington. I have been away with some friends on bikes for the last few days and now back, so subject to the weather I need to get out and try the bike now that I have dropped the needle by one groove on the No 3 carb to see what impact, if any it has? Will r...

Re: Z900A4 float levels

Plugs of No 3 and No 4 were swapped as I do not have the ability to thoroughly clean plugs, nor a new supply to keep changing every time I do a test. So I cleaned No 3 as best I could and put it into No 4 and moved No 4 to No 3, which is why it probably looks so bad, all pots were firing OK. Have dr...

Re: Z900A4 float levels

I'm still hoping it is a carb issue as anything else will be a pain in the butt. Transferred all the jets, seat, valve, float pivot pin and float from No 4 to No 3 and all of No's 3 to No 4. However, I also fitted a new float to No 4 which went it without any tang adjustment. Did another plug chop a...
