Re: Bearing hub top hat bearing spacer!

Thanks for the replies, I was sort of coming to the conclusion it doesn't matter which end the bearing spacer ring goes as the A4 manual shows the ring on the drum side, the Z1000 on the sprocket side and the z1 in the middle. Full house! cheers again!

Bearing hub top hat bearing spacer!

Start off with an apology it's dumb question time again, I shouldn't be asking this question but when even checking the part manuals, doing random club and internet searches for images doesn't give me answer, will swallow my pride and ask away! Changing the bearings on the rear wheel hub, Z1a, and k...

Hi, thanks for all the advice, all greatly appreciated! Sadly not time to do anything today, tasks for next weekend now. Simply the engine will run fine on all four starting from cold, even off choke and revs freely and ticks over for about 5 minutes (does vary) then abruptly stops and refuses to re...

Re: Engine just cuts out! Any suggestions please?

Thanks for the reply, I have had the fuel tap off and apart, everything seems clear and get a reasonable flow out of both outlets, the fuel hoses where tired so replaced them. Just tried again, 5 minutes fine then stops abruptly. Not even sure if it fuel flow or ignition now, back on it tomorrow met...

Engine just cuts out! Any suggestions please?

I am somewhat a layman fixing bikes but I am sufficiently frustrated enough to trade looking even dumber than I already am to solve the issue now! I managed to get the bike running , hadn't run for over 9 years,, but since I started it, had never ran it for any length of time until now! It will star...

Re: 1975 Z1 shocks

Apologies for jumping on the end of the thread but it made me curious about the codes on my shocks. The link to the date codes earlier in the thread shows the shock codes should be two numbers, 39 the example given, but mine say 3 D on mine, - on a Z1a - all other codes on the bike seem good, I beli...

Replace or restore! Help!!!

Been a bit reluctant to post this as it is probably a bit lame to you much more experienced folk but sure a lot of you have the experience of both sides of my dilemma and might be able to help me. I did try the search but didn't help with the very simple question, that I change my mind to the answer...

Thanks for the reply Steve, will let you know if I do. Would be nice to sell together but guessing highly unlikely someone will want both bikes.
