Re: Steel box section braced swing arm

It uses a spindle which has a keyway and an M18 nut at each end. One eccentric has two M4 grubscrews inside to slot into the keyway, where there should be a key in the other end. It's quite a lot longer than the stock spindle, where on mine I had to space even a stock wheel though there's a possibil...

Re: Steel box section braced swing arm

And, it's probably the one single item that made the biggest improvement to my chassis, so £65 is an utter bargain! :)

Re: Steel box section braced swing arm

That will be a Davida to fit a Z1000J, Z1000R, Z1100R or GPz1100B. Other than your eccentrics being anodised blue it's identical to the one in my J (before I modified it).

Thanks Lee! The rebuild is well overdue, but now it's mechanically how I want it (and work was quiet) now is the time! :)

Re: Z1000J Build

Depending on your budget it may be worth contacting ISR. Al had his discs made by them, where although his look like "normal" ISR discs they may be able to make you some to replicate your S1 discs (but better)....

Re: Z1000J - the story continues....

It's rather annoying that all of my previous photos have disappeared because of stupid Photobucket, but I'll try to update them at some point. Anyway, what better way to shake off a hangover than by wrestling a motor into a frame? But, that's the donkey work out of the way now, so I just have the en...

Re: Z1000J - the story continues....

It's been a loooooonnnnng time since the last update due to work, the building of a YPVS, then no work. But, the "no work" meant that I could finally pull the old Zed apart to carry out a rebuild. The motor is getting a top-end refresh and a set of GPZ1100B2 cams to complement the slightly...

Re: Dyna S Ignition

Thanks. Mine never had a problem starting or ticking over (other than being pilot jet related, but that's hopefully sorted now) so I think yours had a problem.
I would be tempted by a Dyna 2000 if one comes up at the right price though....

Dyna S Ignition

Evening all, I recently picked up a Dyna S DS2-1 ignition, which if I'm honest I don't think will make any difference compared to the stock ignition on my J so I'm thinking of selling it. Unfortunately it doesn't have the rotor, but these can be had for about £20 + postage from Dynojet UK. Because o...

Cheers, but I don't think it will have the guide in the top of the cover which is what I need. Also, I assume you're in Oz so you're right - postage would be mental!
