Re: CR33 RACE CARBS
If they're in excellent condition you'd probably be looking at somewhere around £500-800 used, depending on how quickly you wanted to shift them. Personally, I'd be looking to keep them...

Re: Anyone here ride or race Eddie Lawson reps or J`s.
Hmmm.... It's sounding like you may have too much rebound damping and the rear could be pumping down. What this means is the shock compresses when it hits a bump, but too much rebound means that it doesn't properly extend again so when it hits the next bump it compresses even further and so on. This...

Re: Anyone here ride or race Eddie Lawson reps or J`s.
Yeah, sorry about all of the questions but it's tricky to diagnose the issue without being able to prod the bike. The first thing that springs(!) to mind is whether the shocks have any damping? If you bounce on the seat does it spring straight back up, no matter the rebound setting (the rebou...

Re: Z1000J Cam Cover 14025-1463
Scott, In this photo you can see the joyous hacksawing fun I had one sunny afternoon. Hopefully this should give an idea of what to chop and what you need to keep. :) The main thing is to keep enough coverage across the top to correctly locate the top guide, and keep the six bolt holes. https://live...

Re: Anyone here ride or race Eddie Lawson reps or J`s.
There are many on here who either do track days on a J or ELR, or have very sorted versions. Also, there is a raft of info about suspension setup, in particular a thread by Al showing the path he went down to get his J to where it is. Knowing a bit more about your bike would help: - - Are you runnin...

Re: GPZ1100B1 cam timing advice needed
Coose, you wouldnt happen to know the part number for the cam cover that you bought to modify? I presume it was a lot cheaper than a standard one? Sorry Scott, I don't. But, with my bike being a US-spec Z1000J I chopped up the cover that I had and bought a UK cover instead. The US covers come up fo...

Re: AMC Suzuki engined
Frame number on the AMC is AS-100004. That is the stamped number on the headstock that you can see in the photo of the frame plate, and there are no other numbers? I still think AMC would commission frames from Martin and then sell them as a complete bike (stamping in their own numbers), but then t...

The PVM wheels are certainly more recent than '79. It'd be interesting if you can find out more about it.

Re: AMC Suzuki engined
I'm wondering if AMC bought frames from Moto Martin but then sold complete bikes as AMC? The German TUV rules have always been strict, so to build a special at that time may have not been possible, or viable at least?

Re: AMC Suzuki engined
It's definitely a lovely thing!
What are the numbers stamped on the headstock? I assume the ones in the photo above tally with what's on the frame plate, but are there any on the left side of the headstock?
