Re: Top shock mount extensions

If you fit a wider swing arm the lower shock mounts are moved further apart . These move the top shock mount out to compensate .

Get a genuine Kawasaki workshop manual before you start anything .

Re: 1978 Z1000a1 Wiring Harness Routing

My advice would be to use the pics in the Kawasaki workshop manual , spend a wee bit time looking at all the pics and you should get it right .

One of my mates is thinking of selling his 1100R . It is the best one I have seen , bog standard with a Kerker pipe AND has the standard pipes .

Biggest you can go to is 150 without modifications to swing arm . Be careful what 150 tyre you use as some are more than 150mm wide . We had to put a dent into the inside of Kath's A2 as the Avon 150 was about 159 wide .

Yoyo has one for sale ZL1000 good condition and runs well . Only bits not standard are the foot pegs and a 16" back wheel fitted [reckoned to be better mod for gearing and tyre selection] . £2500 . If interested I will give you his contact details and you can sort out photos etc .

Get one of the ones that fits into the steering stem below the bottom yoke . The one I got has a selection of pins to fit various bikes , zrx and z1000 . Ebay 231611772539 should work . Not the same as mine but I can't remember where I got mine , probably at a bike show .
