Re: Z1000J max rpm ?

Until the valves bounce :D

If it's standard is there any point revving it beyond 8.5K, it won't be making any more power after that, I think the max power on the Unitrak engine is only about 8.5K, my one feels like it's time to change up by 9 at most.

Re: (Yet another!) valve clearance question.

In my opinion you should get them as close as you can to the max recomended clearance (I can't remember what this is) if you want to leave them as long as possible between changing them. If they are on the minimum clearance you will get slightly more lift and maybe a slight increase in performance. ...

Re: gpz900r buying advice

Nice bikes, fast, handle well and comfortable, the later ones with 17" front wheels handle a little better. If they're not looked after then they can have cam wear and cam chain problems, so make sure the oil has been changed regularly and the valve clearances done. I'd avoid a really early one...

I hadn't noticed it until you mentioned it, think I'd have gone for recessing the tail light rather than extending the tail piece, but I still think it looks good.

I was going to say where the feck is Wimbotsham, but looking at a map I've been there, I'd be a maybe depending on weather and whether I fancy riding my Z that far, nice ride from Ipswich though.

Re: Lawson Jigsaw Project

The starter clutches are different, so the motor might be, the Z1100R uses a Unitrak GPZ1100 engine, ZX1100A model, but you probably new this already

Re: Unitrac offset sprockets

According to my research 630 Chain Roller Width = 9.53 mm Therefore my standard sprocket which has a overall width of 18mm has an offset of 8.47 mm GPZ1000RX sprocket has overall of 19 mm therefore offset = 9.47 mm 3/8 offset = 9.53 mm So I might as well get a GPZ1000RX sprocket as it's only 0.06 of...
