An original Z1 tail piece has 2 slightly raised rails in the plastic moulding where the document tray slides in.

The conventional way is best with the correct tool to hold the nut in the leg but nearly every pair of forks that I have stripped show evidence that the seal has been attacked with a screw driver rather than a seal hook to remove the seal.Once removed the old seal can be used to fit the new part in ...

Chris,
Mine is a 73 Z1 item so should be no waste gate but the sump plug area has been damaged whilst trying to remove a tight plug I assume and the plug O ring won’t seal so it drips slightly.

Can anyone recommend someone who could remove a seized piston in a Z1 master cylinder and rebore and hone it for 5/8.

You are correct, it’s a typo.
That is the info I was after and I assume the superseded part is thicker for use with the O ring chain because with the slimmer item fitted the chain comes within 2-3mm of the rear sprocket securing bolts.
