Hi Wardy Just had a similar problem with similar symptoms on my 1100r rep . Same carbs K+N filters dynojet stage 3 . Took me weeks of searching to find the choke bar had moved very slightly causing the choke plungers ( not all of them ) to be partially open. Played havoc with everything though bike ...

Thats quite a find , a fairly rare model even over here . Don't listen to the MZ mockery they really are good bikes albeit with original styling ! I can see some parts on yours that have been directly lifted from my Etz . If it worked they used it again and again . In fact with all that 1 cylinder t...

Cafe Racers

In a bid to be open and informed about all aspects of motorcycling , popped down to Stuttgart at the weekend to Glemseck 101 an event for modded bikes with an emphasis on Cafe Racers , Men with beards and generally being cool ! Our very own Carl Fogarty was special guest ( not sure why , no beard an...

ELR rep at Spa

From many extreme trick Z1000R / Z1100R's spotted at the weekend at Spa , this was my personal favourite . Amazing attention to detail , spot the alternator drive belt and one off front guard . http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/lowegeissler/20160702_115553_resized%201_zpsjefosufy.jpg Richard

Hi Swampy Finding a Unitrak engine that is both good and cheap is not easy and you will end up with 2 wrecked engines if you are not careful . I bought one off here and although usable had not been rebuilt in 30 years , so after a trip to Debbens my wallet is 2k lighter and my brother still has to p...

Hi Redzee Z1bman is correct the rubber is normally very well glued to the top half of the cover. However I may be able to help ! Take a look at the pic and see if this is what you are after. http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/lowegeissler/20160324_121647-1_zpse8vvjnfe.jpg It is from a Gpz1100B...

Thats not a shed its a warehouse ! Once its full of the usual stuff you could lose your bike in there . I am not jealous in any way . Nice one but who has to look after the parkland outside it could take all day to mow the lawn and do a bit of weeding !

Hi Roger Can sympathise with you, I bought a B1 as a donor bike for my B2 and was amazed at how many parts are different .. Luckily it was very cheap but I learnt a lot . Don't ever make the mistake of buying a B1 tank for your B2 it also will not fit without serious alterations, and no sorry I have...

Very very nice result .I think you still have space there for one in stardust silver to complete the set !! It has inspired me to do a B2 refresh this winter everything apart clean and refresh where applicable . Had to take the engine out to get it down to the cellar however. All the best Richard

Hi Mark Sounds like a good plan , especially if you reserve a front mudguard clock set and handlebars for me oh and maybe frame and wiring loom too ! Was very tempted by initial sale but do not have 5k or the space but I can say I sold mine In 1995 also for personal reasons and have regretted It eve...

Thanks Mark The 2 pictures of the green bike are just what I needed . I remember from my 1100r that the stripes certainly went round the corners but unfortunately I have no pics of the bike with the original fairing as I had an incident with a grass verge which reduced it to many small pieces ! Supe...

Z 1000 / 1100R fairing stripes question ?

Hi Just trying to find out 100% in which position Kawasaki put the gold stripe ( the one between the blue and white ) on the fairing of the 1000/1100R in relation to the cutout for the headlight adjuster . http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r491/lowegeissler/20151119_172216_zpsrhq13vj7.jpg I have s...

Hi Paul Just like to say how much I look forward to your posts and enjoy each stage of your fastidious restorations . I sort of get to live a bit of my dream of getting my 1100R back or buying another one which financially is not going to happen . There is something about the combination of all that...
