wait till the wife/ partner's out. Sneak into the kitchen , fill the washing basin half full with boiling water from the kettle then float the case in it ( interior of cover uppermost). Also I can vouch for OS pipes in Stafford they have made a couple of systems for me, One for A Z650B and another for A Rotax engined MZ both have been of excellent quality

It is the correct part number so get in touch with your supplier and complain, the sensor is for the self cancelling turn signal system but the connecting thread is the same as is on the instrument,you could try and contact Zpower in the uk, they may have the correct part, but your first call is the...

It is an absolute nightmare distance diagnosing electrical faults, however if you have only removed the headlamp then the issue is more than likely to be in one of the multi connectors therein, check all the connections especially the brown wire coming from the ignition switch ....good luck
