Re: Airbox options

Thanks AL, that would be great. From Olly’s comment it might be the length that’s critical but as many dimensions as possible. The more the merrier.

Airbox wanted

I’m in need of an airbox to fit CV carbs to my Unitrak1100. Any airbox from a from a CV carb’d Z or GPz. Would consider a 750, 1000 or 1100. Any condition as I might have to do some work to make it fit.

Thanks,
Paul

Re: Airbox options

Thanks AL and Olly. I hadn’t considered a 750 airbox. It opens up my options a little. I’ll ask in the wanted section if anyone has one.

Re: Airbox options

Here’s a couple of pic’s of the airbox in the Unitrak frame. There’s no free space in any direction. IMG_0102.JPG IMG_0103.JPG If you look at the ID pic’s in the workshop manual, compare where the crankcase breather lines up, you can see there’s 20-30mm difference between the injected and carb’ed mo...

Airbox options

Hi Guyz, In an attempt to make some progress on my Unitrak I bought a set of 34mm CVs off evelbay. Now I realise the carbs are longer than the throttle bodies. As a result, I can’t get the carbs in with the standard airbox. What carb airbox will fit? Would an 1100R or 1000J box fit a Unitrak? Thanks...

Electronic Tacho

Hi
I’m looking for a Z1 style electronic tacho for my A1. I read elsewhere that some have had bad luck with the units sold by zPower. Does anyone have any good experience with them?

Re: Oil Change Question

Oh dear. What you’ve got there in the bottom part of the cam chain guide that fits in the barrels. Item 22.

It might be left there from a bad rebuild or it might have broken off. Either way, you’re going to want to remove the head and see what you’ve got in your barrels.

Re: Oil Change Question

I would seriously consider dropping the sump. There’ll be a decent layer of sediment in there by the sound of it and you can clean the pump strainer at the same time. Cleaning the old gasket off might be a bit tricky though.
Then do the above.

Re: Brackets in front of battery case Z1000A1

Using bolt 11, 15 sits on top of the rubber grommets that secure 17 to 20. 20 blots to the frame.

Re: Front sprocket cover

It sounds like a Unitrak cover to me. The pic, I believe, is an 1100B cover. If the gear linkage hanger is directly below the gear position numbers as I’ve drawn and there’s the bit to the lower right corner, it could well be from an 1100A. If it is I would be interested in it. I have a couple of B ...

The injectors on the ZX1100A’s have part No 49033-1001

Re: Tappets/buckets

Here's a typical set of manky buckets found on ebay. Apart from the burnt on oil stain, the important thing, in my opinion, is the polished areas at the top and bottom of the skirt. This indicates the amount of rock that takes place as the cam applies sideways pressure. The top row 3rd and bottom ro...
