Swingarm options for wide wheel

So my Metchamex arm is too narrow for a 160 tyre with an 18 inch rim.

Any suggestions as what will fit without too much work.

Bike is a Z1100R

Thanks

I've used Griff's Reality Motorworks in Bristol for various bits and pieces including wheels and calipers.
Always done a great job.

So now anyone else tempted to do the Classic Bike Trackday in August at Cadwell? You don't need a modern bike to have fun. For those wondering about the engine spec. 1170cc but standard 9.5:1 compression pistons, flowed head by Debben, Mikuni flatslides, but standard airbox, cams, valves etc. About ...

Z1100R caliper compatibility

The threads are almost stripped on one of my front caliper brackets.
Tried to get it repaired but unsuccessfully.

Are they the same as the Gpz 1100 Unitrac or any other later models?
The 1100R isn't listed on the online micro fiches.

Thanks

I'm about to change the springs, though manual gives level with springs removed which is the normal practice.

Fork oil level

According to the manual, each leg should take 348ml and the level is 110mm without the spring and the fork extended.
I've put about 350 in but the level is over 300mm below the top!
Never had this problem with other bikes.
Any ideas?
Ps it's a Z1100R but the same levels etc for a Z1000J

Al, The casing isn't too bad. If I do any track days next year stiffer fork springs are in order. Though I changed the BT45's for Conti Classic Attacks on the Sunday I didn't notice much difference in grip on the track. However on the road they are so much better. The bike is more stable, feels ligh...

Al, that's my old BT45 tyre I used at Cadwell. Glad I was able to scrub it in for you. But did you manage to scrape the alternator casing with it? Photo of me racing Lawson himself - though it could be Rob. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3797/9531705629_091f927235_c.jpg Brian

What a great weekend. Lucky with the weather too - after leaving Sunday I hit rain a few miles down the road. Good to meet a few members and camp alongside Rob and Al. And for once the bike didn't miss a beat despite the punishment I dished out to it. Some fine looking bikes there too. Got a CD of p...

Al, Anything you could bring you ask. How about a Harris frame, some wide wheels, uprated forks etc. Got a spare alternator cover? Even a walking pace fall on the left and the casing smashes. I'm sure you could buy billet aluminium ones many years ago. Hoping to leave work early and be there about 5...

Al, think I've sorted the bike problem. Sheer frustration of over a year of intermittent breakdowns seems to have been a dodgy ignition coil. Though crap weather or other plans have meant little use this year. A sunny weekend on the horizon so i will take her out for a good spanking. Anyone riding u...

Do you know yet if we can camp on the Friday night?

And Zorded, sort of following your comment, rather than novice advanced etc shouldn't it be split into categories of bikes with skinny touring crossply tyres and big fat sticky radial tyres?!

Cadwell

Well I've booked for the weekend. Whether I'll turn up is another matter. Should have been at Donington last year but my 1100R gets very homesick and breaks down whenever it gets a few miles from the house. Very frustrating year. Probably only did about 200 miles on it. Even dropped the newly painte...

Cheers Al. I'll try adjusting or spacing out the ring that puts pressure on the seal first. Tank needs repainting again as I dropped it in the garage resulting in a couple of dents and a huge gouge of paint being removed. I'll get it done over the winter and may try to find someone who can fit a mod...

Z1100R? Petrol cap unique to this model?

My petrol cap leaks but I'm unable to get new rubber gasket. According to Z Power the part number should be 11009-1051. I ordered one but it doesn't fit. I checked with an online mircofiche and this is the part for Z1000R, 1100B1/2 and pretty much any of the Kawasakis of that era (can't find an onli...
