Alan,

true mine didn't fit straight off either - I took a smooth flat file to the end of the head to reduce the thickness of the D Holes.

Didn't take too long and a bit of careful preparation with oily rags to catch the filings etc.

If it's any help - I replaced mine with anodised ali ones from Ape via Debben's. They have a lip on both edges and slip over the width of the D (on its side) shaped hole. Sealed with a smear of Hylomar.

They wont suck in or blow out.

Machine shop around Lincoln

Hi,

My regular place seems to have gone bust so I'm looking for a recommendation for a place around Lincoln / Lincolnshire I can have some bits made for the front end of my Project:

Front wheel spacer and some plates to hold replacement brake callipers.

I've always found that after changing the oil & filter: topping up with 4 litres of oil leaves it at full after running the engine.

The filter keeps hold of the extra 0.3ltr

Hello,
My Z1-R had the second type of piston. I seem to remember reading it was to stop heat transfer from the Sintered Metal break pads that came into fashion about them.

Aye up ! Sent my engine off for overhaul - 1980 60 odd thousand miles, this is what need doing according to the feedback: re-shelling the cams grinding in valves with new stem seals full gasket set (genuine) ignition system missing- please advise new cam chain new plastic wheel for double wheel chai...

yes there is like a round rubber block on the frame somewhere looked like a door stopper!!!

Can't remember where tho - RH side a bracket somewhere?

Some one else must have a picture?
