Re: 4:2 exhausts....z1000 A options ??
You can fit repros if you are prepared to separate the silencer from mid section. Would only look ok if you did both sides though !! The last pic on my ebay advert shows it done on a Z1000. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232947255873?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 However - Z650...

Re: Re dunstal lookalike silencers
I have used the modern ones and I supply them on eBay etc. as well.
Not noisy and passed several MOTs with no probs.
Build quality pretty good as well.
pm me if you need more info prices or see here -

Re: Z1R fuel sender cover
try doremi usa
they do the complete repro set in your image.
you may be able to persuade them to part with a cap or divulge the suppliers details.
** beware the one you are showing is not the factory part - and it does show a bit more under the tank from the side **

Re: Dismantling ignition barrel - pin removal
There are similar roll pins to hold Z1 fuel cap in place. Soak with penetrating oil and then I selected a suitable diameter drill bit and tapped it out with that as a drift. Obviously a vice or similar to hold it good and steady helps. I also found the pins were more inclined to tap out from one sid...

Re: Z1000R Helmet & Seat Lock
Here is my ZRX helmet lock dismantled - note the larger retaining wafer on right & the 6 slots you can choose from to make key fit. https://i.imgur.com/GS4a6gV.jpg Got to get the wafers into a place where the whole lot is flush when key goes in - like this - then test it in the barrel to make su...

Re: Z1000R Helmet & Seat Lock
If it is anything like ZRX 1200 helmet lock it is fairly easy to do. Will try and find the link on how to do it. Helmet lock was basically take it to bits - do it in a clean area as there are some tiny springs that push the brass wafers into place. There is one large brass wafer which holds the barr...

Re: ZRX 1200R Meets Z900 RS Cafe
Interesting point ref. indicators -
to echo the early zed they should be orange lens & either chrome stalk & round a la Z1 or Black stalk & rectangle a la Z1-R
My brother is getting some round after market winkers for it soon. I will try and get a pic or two.

Re: ZRX 1200R Meets Z900 RS Cafe
I would have preferred some candy / metallic in the 900 paint. The later ZRX went to solid colours and this has continued the trend. The 900 is wearing a factory option 2 person seat - not the standard jobby. Note how short the front fender is - even with an extender it is barely along as the Rex on...

ZRX 1200R Meets Z900 RS Cafe
Hello Chaps,
Thought it might be of interest to see my brother's new Cafe Racer up against a REX.
What do people reckon ??

Re: Z1R - The Work Begins!
I had a doremi fuel sender unit.
Worked fine but the shroud is hard plastic ( not soft rubber like original) and it showed underneath the tank slightly if fitted.
Think the factory shroud will fit if you still have a decent one.
Have some pics if needed.

Re: Z650 Main stand
Jason at Kawasaki Heaven or John Browse at Wrexham, or DK Spares in Staffordshire are all worth a try for that. Also check if the part number was used on another bike - it will widen your search for a quicker result. According to partzilla the Z650 B1 main stand fits these - This Kawasaki 34011-1041...
