Re: Z1000 A1/A2 Engine wanted
Cap Cap threads? I have one which needs a spark plug helicoil fixing and one cam shaft cap bolt thread that needs the same. I know its a silly question but do you have an original Z1000 A1 head that has not and does not need any thread repairs? Not a silly question. I do have one but it has a couple...

Re: Bikes For Sale
I'd be interested in the Z1r, if is goes as well as it looks. If I'm honest it's a more than I'm looking to pay at the moment but if it doesn't sell for top dollar and there is a little wiggle room on the price then pm me at a later date. Otherwise good luck with the sale . . . Z650 Project Bike US ...

Re: Need Respray to A1 on this
Correct, I'd like ot to have the correct paint job too, the last guy that had it painted it A2 as he preferred it that way. Alo the paint job looks good from here but close up its not the best by any means. Whats wrong with the existing paint? It has an A2 gold stripe pattern not the A1 lines... I'm...

Re: 1977 Z1000 A1 Carbs - Carb info
Now you have said it out loud it makes sense . . . I think when you have 3 in balance and one rogue one you tend to focus on that one and try and bring in in line with the other 3. The approach you outline is to get the dodgy one locked out and bring the other 3 in line. I'll let you know how I get ...

Re: 1977 Z1000 A1 Carbs - Carb info
Has anyone come across the issue where you balance the carbs, go to lock the lock nut and it tightens against the shoulder of the slotted screw and not the linkage leaving the slotted screw with the ability to turn back and forth? I have this on one carb only, I have swapped the slotted screw from o...

Re: Shimming Z1000 A1 1977
Will do I will break into it this week to measure up, so I should know what needs to go where and what I have to swap out. Thanks for the advice guys. Contact Jerry for the early type shims, I think it’s Ginger Bear for the later ones, there’s actually something about the shim swap service in the ye...

Re: Need Respray to A1 on this
I agree about the A!'s being a little dull in standard mode, I have toyed with the idea of having it in standard colours with a little extra sparkle and laquer to give it a little more shine and depth. The picture looks very shiny and with an excellent finish, I am sure you'll remember how much you ...

Shimming Z1000 A1 1977
Guys, in anticipation of shimming the machine now it's back up and running, (after a fashion), where do you guys buy your shims? Are there any in the club and we can swap in and out? Anyone have any lying around? Are they interchangeable with other models?
