Re: Andrews cams don't fit
Are you sure your engine builder is clued up on Zed engines, one mistake and you can bend valves, just be careful. I think 2x cams are 0.360" lift which is not that radical. Probably as Rob says cylinder head needs to be machined to allow lobes to clear. Buzzard@thebuzzworkz.

Re: More O.C.D. - Vesrah v Athena valve seals ?
Vesrah, Athena or Viton valve guide seals you get in the full gasket sets. Do not waste your money and time on any of these, use genuine Kawasaki seals every time. I am not going to use any of these in the cylinder heads I do, I will only be using Kawasaki seals it's not worth the hassle. There is s...

Olly, a magnet is attracted to the Cast iron guides not the phosphorus bronze you said I quoted. Hope to get your cylinder head back from Vapour blasters next week. Buzzard.

Re: Z1000a1 valves and part numbers
Olly, what I said was stainless steel valves are not compatible with the cast iron guides you have in a Z1000 head , the head you sent me and the two types of valves ( standard Kawasaki and stainless valves) gives you two options. If you want to fit the stainless steel valves in the z1000 head you w...

Re: Z1a Restoration
Ref crack between exhaust seat and plug thread. This is a thing that occurs quite often and I've seen it In lots of heads in the past nothing to worry about. I reckon half the heads ive done have the odd crack in them. Buzzard@ thebuzzworkz.

Re: Calculating shim size after re-seating valves
Big Fluff, the thing I've seen most is where the seat has been over cut to deep into the head and the seat is too wide. Trouble is when you knock out the old guide then knock in the new ones they can go back in very slightly for want off a better description " on the piss abit" which means...
