Re: Engine paint removal - Paint stripper no good

Hi David some advice from a guy who stripped paint off from several engines and all "in house" -take out the engine -take the whole engine apart (replace the complete cam chain mechanism while it's taken apart) -wash the engine parts in a tub with cellulose thinner, sometimes the paint com...

Hi Mike as promised some pictures of the routing of the ST loom. I put them here so the other guys can see them too and when answering with a personal message I can only attach one picture at the time...I'm not a computer wizzard after all. :D DSCN4155.JPG DSCN4152.JPG DSCN4153.JPG DSCN4154.JPG DSCN...

Re: Hello and new exhaust needed.

Hi Domo1 welcome to the club! Nice pictures of your bike, thanks! You say it's a '76 Z900A4 but it has a '75 Z1B style paintset on it, the front fork seems to be Z900A4 as is the taillight. You can get a 4 in 4 exhaust at Z-Power in the UK and a front mudguard also. As far as the paintset is concern...

Re: KZ1000 carb questions

Hi
the tubes on number 2 and 4 carb are vent tubes, not overflow. They admit air to come out of the float chambers so don't blank them off!

Re: GPz1100 B2

Hi Duane
the engine number should be no higher than 19300. The Unitrac engines start with number 19301 . I guess your engine number is lower so you can assume with almost certainty you have a B2 engine.

Re: GPz1100 B2

Hi Duane
B2 pistons are dome shaped, Unitrac pistons are high compression and are heigher in the centre but the diameter of the piston pins should give you certainty.

Re: GPz1100 B2

Hi Duane welcome to the club! Nice GPz 1100 you have there. Before ordering pistons, open up the engine to see if you have a B2 engine...mine had a Uni trac engine and those have a different cranckshaft, other pistons, head and valves, so don't hurry with ordering parts. Good luck! Greetings from Be...

Re: Fork ears.

Hi Ian there are 4 collars on each side, 3 beneath and one above the lamp holder/ear. When you say there's about 5 mm of play I think you're missing the rubber ring and the zinc plated collar just beneath the chromed part that sits on the bottom yoke... Another reason could be that in the past someo...

Re: Gpz1100B2 restoration

Hi guys since the weather forecast predicted warm and dry weather I decided to get the wheels painted. They were degreased with aceton and this morning it took me about 3 hours to tape them off. This afternoon I sprayed them outside and took them in my workshop to dry. I do this because good and war...

Re: Gpz1100B2 restoration

Hi men it took me a few months to come back to you but work continued on the GPZ 1100 B2 ! It was too cold to paint and I couldn’t strip paint off from the steel parts because they would start to rust, so I continued on the alloy parts. The wheels had a gold paint on them under which I found a green...

Hi Steve
welcome to the club!
Very nice bike you have there! Is it a Z or a KZ ( US import, single front disc)?
Greetings from Belgium

Re: What are you doing whilst in 'self-isolation'?

Hey guys I'm going at work everyday, see a lot of people on the streets and tell them to dispere and go home, checking if the pubs and restaurants are closed... not a nice job these days... For those who have the virus: take good care of yourself! Beware when you think things are going better, a few...
