Re: Another carb question or 3

Just had a thought, when I owned this bike in the late 90’s I had o put an inline fuel filter on because the tank had a coating of old dried out petrol lining it, so when I put petrol in it all partially dissolved but enough to clog up jets etc, from what I can remember from 20 yrs ago the symptoms ...

Re: MK2 Ignition coil resistance

I believe ballast resistors are only needed on low ohm coils, you remove it when using Dyna 3ohm coils.

Another carb question or 3

Took the Mk2 out yesterday, it is running very rich black plugs B7ES tends to run better when opening the throttle, but very sluggish at low revs, suggesting the problem is on the pilot side also there is spitting back sounds ( best description I have come up with) which I thought meant lean How can...

Carb orientation in plate

Hi guys
I have had my Mk2 carb bodies away for vapour cleaning and now ready to rebuild, as they are slightly different from each other how can I tell which carb body is supposed to be no.1, 2,3 and 4 as they do not have any identification numbers I can see.

Cheers

Re: Z1000 caliper spacers

Well come up with a plan C, using some Aluminium spacers I have found on flea bay, can someone in the know tell me do these Plugs/spacers sit flush with the surface 6mm or slightly set under flush.

Re: Z1000 caliper spacers

Well it appears all 4 are missing and pretty unavailable in the UK, so need to come up with a plan B which looks like getting a batch of M10x16mm shim washers and using them as the spacers.
Need to go to a plan C the washer I mentioned are exactly 10mm ID so no clearance, bugger.

Re: Z1000 caliper spacers

Cheers Keith, I will check, it appears when I pull the lever the calipers, well the left one has quite a lot of movement before the pad touches the disc.

Re: Z1000 float chamber issue

Cheers Keith & Garry,
It was cracked just below the point it enters the aluminium body, had a couple of tries with no success then decided the open the crack up a little and put lots of solder in, then drilled the tube clear of solder,
Jobs a good un it doesn’t leak.

Z1000 float chamber issue

Hi guys
I have just noticed on No. 4 carb, one of the overflow tubes has cracked inside the chamber where it enters the casting, are these tubes available from anywhere or is it a new chamber required, unfortunately it is off a set of pumper carbs so is slightly different
