There should be a top and bottom breather plate with two breather tubes, two sleaves for two 6x40 screws to go through, according to the parts booklet

On the carbs of my 550 project, an american bike, there are two pipes to the tank, one is the flow inlet, the other is a vacuum or pressure pipe for the tank, how exactly does this pipe work, and if I try to start the engine without a tank fitted, does this pipe need to be left open or blocked to he...

Result! Checked the pick up pulse, all ok, decided to see if Z Power had a igniter I could borrow, they had phew, anyway, connected the borrowed item up but let it dangle on the exhaust rather then bolt it on, gave it a spin, result good spark :D , it must be the igniter :?: :idea: then a thought, c...

Right, I have done the check for voltage at the igniter, there are 4 wires. all show voltage except the black/yellow which is the earth, so power going in and out! the dowel pin is ok I only put it together recently. Could it be the battery, it is brand new yuasa, not had a trickle charge since fill...

Pulling my hair out, cant find any other kill switch, traced all the wires, all seem good, does anyone know the clearance between the rotor and the pick up on the ignition? could it be that I wonder?

Will check the volts at the coils in the morning, the kill switch stops the engine turning when its off, assume the the power flows when its on, the engine does turn, will get back, cheers lads.

Well put a new battery on my Z550 project today, all the bits work, lights, break light, indicators etc, engine turns over nicely, but no spark at the plugs, any of them, it has the electronic pick ups, ignitor etc, any pointers to check out, what is the most likely problem? ta :D

Well done a bit more over the holiday, cleaned and refitted the carbs, what a job that was :lol: cleaned up the pipes and put them back on, including the right hand one I got off e bay for £9, bargain ! there are patches of stain on the left hand pipe, think the chrome has been worn off, best I can...
